Dr. Shelley Keith Matthews joined the faculty at Mississippi State University in 2009 after completing her PhD in the Department of Sociology at Emory University. Dr. Matthews' research and teaching interests include criminological theory, juvenile delinquency, gender and crime, social psychology, and quantitative methods. Her current research focuses on how complexity of identity affects emotional and criminal reactions to stress. Dr. Matthews' work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Youth and Society, and Signs.
