Ashley M. Perry joined the faculty in August of 2013.  Ashley obtained her Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in May, 2014.  Her current research examines the terms associated with domestic violence and the particular rise of attentions toward male victims of intimate partner abuse.  Other teaching and research interests include criminology, social problems, deviance and research on victims of natural disasters.  Her work on the mental and physical health changes of victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita is forthcoming in Sociological Spectrum.
