Dr. Diego Thompson joined the faculty at Mississippi State University in 2017. He received his Ph.D. and Master degrees in Sociology and Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University. Dr. Thompson completed his Bachelor degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of the Republic of Uruguay. His research has focused on sustainable development, agri-food systems, migration, governance, and adaptation to environmental changes in rural communities, in the United States and in Latin America. Prior to joining the Department of Sociology at MSU he was a faculty member in Middlebury College.
