Kayla is a doctoral student in Sociology. Before arriving at Mississippi State, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology and Political Science from Austin Peay State University in 2015. She then received her Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Mississippi in 2017. While completing her Master’s, her research focused on how gender and race affect multiracial individuals’ experiences, specifically with dating. Her other research includes examining teaching styles associated with Introductory Sociology courses. Kayla’s interest are race, class, gender, and education.
