Lisa Gooden-Hunley
Lisa Gooden-Hunley is a candidate for a PhD in the Department of Sociology. Her research interests include the sociology of work and higher education. Her dissertation study, which explores the experiences of Black women custodians on a rural college campus, sits at the intersection of both contexts. She is particularly interested in understanding how marginalized groups experience work in the American academy. She uses qualitative methods and intersectional analysis. Before starting the PhD, Lisa taught courses and managed student programs at Mississippi universities for several years. She now teaches Sociology courses. She has presented her work at the Southern Sociological Society and the American Sociological Association annual conferences.
