MSU Social Work student and Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi intern, Ty’Dajasha Hood, represented the program at the Mississippi Child Welfare Institute Conference on February 5, 2026. Ty’Dajasha engaged with professionals across the state to advocate for child safety and promote the Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) curriculum.

The undergraduate Sociology Student Association (SSA) and the graduate student group Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) both participated in Science Night at the Museum at Mississippi State. The students provided elementary-aged participants with an opportunity to learn about the science of Sociology and Criminology through hands-on activities. It was a fun night for all!
